PURU PURU SIMPLE

Artist: Her Ghost Friend

One of the first tracks I fell in love with in this series. I think I first heard it while playing Taiko Portable DX. Something about this track is so fluffy, intimate and sweet. The vocals have a slightly hoarse and cute vibe. I really like it. ;3

PETA-PETA!?PUMPKIN

Artist: Yutopia Qremia

I love the vibes this song switches between! It starts with this very chill low tempo section, then speeds up and gets all dancy and silly with it. There is something weirdly off and simply strange about this song comming from all the edited voice clips and distortion which I find very appealing. That's probably why I love pretty much every 2000 track xD. Playing this one in the game has lotsa strange patterns I had fun figuring out.

KAPPA HEAD

Artist: Mei Osawa(BNSI) feat. Takashi Ikezawa

Unfortunately I couldnt find a non gameplay upload of this song on Youtube so I guess you'll just have to deal with the drums ;/. This one is much less cute girlsy than most of the other taiko songs I like but there is something so captivating about this track to me. There is such a longing feeling I get from the vocals. I should look into trying to find some translated lyrics some day.

Nyanyanya

Artist: rissyuu feat. Choko

I fucking love this genre of Japanese song. Just fuckin NYANYANYANYANYA KITTY MEOWWWWW CUUUUUUUUTE NYAAAAA!!!!!!!!! Its so silly and dumb. xD

Saitama 2000

Artist: LindaAI-CUE

This is the first song in the 2000 series, which houses some of the hardest songs with very strange and somewhat experimental songs. Being the first in the series, the song is much more conventional than the others in its series but I find myself replaying this song more than any other! The don katsu pattern near the end is just so satisying -v- . The don chan vocals in the back is a nice contrast to the chaotic drums.

Soroban 2000

Artist: LindaAI-CUE

Potentially my favorite 2000 track! I love the story behind this track. Its about this friend group who find an arcade cabnet called Soroban 2000. They have fun playing the game until it gets more difficult, one person loses, and they get shocked. Everyone in the group falls until there is one person left. The vocals add a lot to this track and add to the silly somewhat strange vibe it has. Its so goofy and I really like the concept!

Joubutsu 2000

Artist: LindaAI-CUE

This track is a strange one, somber with a subtle sinister edge. My understanding is that the song had this dark tone because it was originally going to be the last of the 2000 series. Fortunately it wasnt, but there is much mystery and intrigue baked into this track. There is a lot of hidden messaging I dont have room to go into here. There is something so powerful about this track. As if you were dying, but peaceful and content. I quite love it.
